dine + wine
The LudwigLOFT and Rudolf Bar in Herrenberg regularly host the "dine + wine" event with different menus, wines and chefs.
In May 2024, the very likeable top chef Sven Ritzmann demonstrated his skills at the LudwigLOFT in Herrenberg. Sven, who has worked in various Michelin-starred kitchens in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, presented with his team in a live cooking event how high-quality dishes and wines can be presented in the best possible way. Not just for the eye, of course, but above all for the palate.
My contribution
For me, event photography is all about capturing the moments very naturally and in the action. That's why I don't use a flash or other external light sources here (if possible). Of course, in low-light situations, the ISO often has to be set higher and the shutter speed a little slower. Fast, high-quality lenses are also ideal here.
I didn't need any additional flashes or brighteners for the "dine + wine" because I took the pictures with my medium format camera and my very fast lenses. This meant that the participants didn't feel disturbed. Which was very important here so that they could enjoy the food undisturbed.
What I always like about such events is the still life around them. That's why I always include pictures like this.
I really enjoy photographing people. Especially when there's a lot going on around you. The evening was very varied. The lighting situations also changed quickly. Not losing sight of the details is an essential task for a photographer at an event like this.
The final image selection and image processing was done by me and made available to the customer as a download.
