Who is this workshop suitable for?
Beginners in model photography, experienced to advanced.
You should already be very familiar with your camera and be interested in my type of photography. Technique will not be an issue in this workshop. We will concentrate on black and white photography and working with models.

We start by getting to know each other briefly. While our model is being prepared for the workshop in the make-up room, we discuss which images we will create together. Then we go straight into practice. From the very beginning, I will accompany you during the coaching and show you how to achieve authentic and emotional images.
Together we want to create natural and authentic images in black and white. It is important to create a basic understanding of photography with available light / natural light.
If we work with LED continuous light in the studio, I will show you how to achieve expressive and reduced image effects with this light.
Communication with the model is an essential building block for establishing trust with the model and getting exceptional photos. In my workshop, I will show you how to do this very well.
I will show you how to work with light and shadow, lines and flexible set design on location to create the most authentic images possible. It's also about harmony and reduction of the image scene. Direct the viewer's gaze to the model without making it appear unnatural.
During the workshop I will accompany you, always be there for you and give you valuable tips.
For the workshop, you will need a digital SLR or system camera including fast fixed focal length lenses. Optimal focal lengths here are between 35 and 85 mm or open telephoto zooms from 24 to 70 mm.
If the workshop is canceled due to underbooking or through the fault of the workshop leader or the location, the workshop fee will be refunded or can be rebooked for another workshop. If a model cancels due to the fault of the model, the workshop leader will replace the model with an equivalent model.
About the photographer
Arne Claussen's black and white works are of a high photographic standard and are inspiring. Close to people - quiet moments with a lot of authenticity. His pictures tell stories and have been published here - Cirque du Soleil, DigitalPhoto, SWR, Women's Health, DER SPIEGEL, among others.
He shares his knowledge of authentic people photography not only in workshops, but also as a lecturer at the Stuttgart Media University. His courses are always fully booked after a short time.
The particularly empathetic and likeable man from Herrenberg has been photographing people since 2018. Primarily in black and white - but of course also in color. His focus is on beauty and fashion photography, business photography and working with artists and musicians.
A few impressions
Available light - We use the available light to develop a very natural image style. In addition, we concentrate on light and shadow by reducing to black and white photography.
Studio light - We work with continuous light in the studio. This gives us a natural look and allows us to concentrate on the posing.
